PROJECT

Comunicancer is an R+D+i project PID2020-116487RB-100, funded by MCIN/AEI/ 10.13039/501100011033 on strategic communication for the prevention of skin cancer due to solar photoexposure. The research team is made up of researchers from Spanish universities and organisations.

PURPOSE

Skin cancer is currently an epidemic in global expansion with a great impact on health services, being a great threat in Spain in the coming years. This project falls within the framework of strategic health communication research and proposes to investigate communication on the prevention of skin cancer due to sun exposure in order to curb the cancer epidemic in one of the groups most at risk, young university students. It addresses the two dimensions:

Monitoring and evaluation of strategic communication on solar photoprevention against skin cancer in Spain.

Monitoring the knowledge, attitudes and habits of the young Spanish university population regarding sun protection.
