TRANSFER WITH IMPACT ON PUBLIC POLICY

At Comunicancer, we have succeeded in getting skin cancer recognised as a health effect of climate change.

This advance has been incorporated into the Scientific Community’s Proposal for the Climate Emergency, drawn up by the National Office for Scientific Advice (ONAC).

📄 The document contains 204 measures based on scientific evidence to inform public decision-making within the framework of the State Pact on the Climate Emergency.

The Comunicancer project is launching initiatives to advise the Canary Islands Government’s Department of Health on skin cancer prevention. The aim of this collaboration is to work together on prevention plans designed to tackle the skin cancer epidemic. The aim is to bring the archipelago into line with pioneering countries that have already succeeded in reducing the incidence, prevalence and mortality rates of skin cancer.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER IN EDUCATION: MEDIA LITERACY

Comunicancer promotes MEDIA LITERACY for health prevention within the framework of SDG 3: good health and well-being. Through workshops in schools, Comunicancer encourages health prevention by fostering fact-checking habits, identifying sources using artificial intelligence (AI), and active learning to counter disinformation on social media.
